About Kendriya Vidyalaya
Kendriya Vidyalaya (translation in English- Central School) is a network of schools run by the Central Government of India. It was started in the year 1965. The primary motive behind setting up these schools was to provide schooling for children belonging to defence background. Many a times the defence personnel will be posted in remote locations with no access to a proper school. Slowly the scheme was extended to all the Government employees. The system is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and follows a uniform syllabus and teaching method ensuring uniformity when a student moves from one place to other. There are 1083 Kendriya Vidyalaya in India and 3 KVs outside India.
