Indian Air Force recruitment 2012 | Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ for WB and Sikkim

The Indian Air Force is the part of Indian Armed Forces and was established on October 08, 1932. It is given the responsibility of securing Indian Air Space. The Air Force has been crucial in securing wins for India in its four wars post-independence. It also played a crucial role in a single confrontation with the neighbouring China. The President of India is the Commander-in-Chief of Indian Air Force like for the other two forces the Indian Navy and Indian Army, . The Indian Air Force has seven Air Commands, with each Command being headed by an Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the rank of Air Marshal.

The Mission of Indian Air Force is, “Defence of India and every part thereof including preparation for defence and all such acts as may be conducive in times of war to its prosecution and after its termination to effective demobilisation.”

Each member of the Indian Air Force takes utmost pride in getting associated with this esteemed branch of Indian Armed Forces. The Force is providing yet another opportunity for young, talented and enthusiastic individual to become a part of it. It has recently announced vacancies for some of the posts.

It invites young unmarried Indian male citizens from the state of West Bengal and Sikkim to apply for the post of Airman. The posts will be filled on the basis of a recruitment test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) trades and Group ‘Y’ (Non-technical). The posts are Auto Technician and Indian Air Force (Police).

Eligibility Criteria

Group ‘X’ – Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and English
Additionally the minimum marks should be 50% in aggregate
Alternatively a diploma course of 3 years duration in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics or Automobile or Computer Science or Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) will also serve the purpose. The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in overall aggregate.

Group ‘Y’ – Intermediate or 10+2 or any other equivalent degree with Science, Commerce or Arts subject
Alternatively a 3 year diploma course in any stream of engineering
There is a domicile requirement for both the posts. The candidate must belong to either West Bengal or Sikkim.
